Actually doing a comp in the middle is a money saver. For some reason that resets your day count to zero. Just be sure not to make the rookie mistake of doing a competition while you are there. You get to learn a lake pretty good in that much time as well. Some days I will fill a basket, others I fish just enough to pay the daily fee.
